I was born in France, and I had an appointment elsewhere. Where was it? Ouagadougou. Thanks to a few years spent in Burkina Faso, where humility and “nothing” are the order of the day, I've learned to look at the trivial. Inspired by nature's “little nothings” and those that make up the daily routine of a cabinetmaker's workshop - shavings and small pieces - I'm keen to create by revealing the sensitivity of the material wood: delicacy, finesse, lightness and diversity. Like this pretty scrap that's too small to do anything with. Or this small, beautiful and unusual piece. Left aside. I decide to adopt them. From these “little bits of wood”, I create and manufacture unique objects. Handmade. I use local woods from our forests and orchards, and natural finishing products (oil, wax). I also embroider wood, by hand, using only thread and a fine needle. Fragments of wood, embroidered one by one, emanate abstract motifs to create unique, artistic compositions. Like lace, guided by the cutting of the wood chip, following its natural outline. My creations are a tribute to this natural, living material. Precious. Let's contemplate it. I welcome you by appointment to my studio to show you my approach and my creations.
